AliExpress has unveiled its discounts for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, when millions of products across a wide range of categories will go on sale across the international online retail marketplace.
Aside from one of its biggest discounting drives ever for Cyber Week, AliExpress is also looking to entertain consumers with livestreams, and ease the convenience of shopping with free and fast shipping and free returns in select markets.
Cyber Week is one of the biggest events in retailers’ calendars. Traditionally, Black Friday marks the start of the Christmas shopping season in the United States. As the shopping festival has grown internationally, some sales continue through the following Monday, a.k.a. Cyber Monday, or even all of the Cyber Week.
In the U.S., Black Friday spending online continues to grow: Shoppers expect to spend $169 online this Black Friday versus $121 in 2019, according to a recent survey by Deloitte. Millennials are expected to drive a significant share of spend during the shopping holiday.
“This year, retailers have an opportunity to better connect with millennials, who grew up heading to midnight doorbuster deal events,” said Stephen Rogers of Deloitte.
Launched in 2010, AliExpress is a business-to-consumer e-commerce platform enabling global consumers to buy directly from manufacturers and distributors in China and worldwide. AliExpress is part of the Alibaba International Digital Commerce Group.
In the days prior to Black Friday, shoppers on AliExpress can collect coupons to use during the sale proper. Its official Black Friday sale runs from Nov. 23 to Nov. 26 and then Cyber Monday’s sale starts Nov. 27 and ends Nov. 29.
Eurozone consumers could save €4 ($4.38) for every €20 spent, up to a maximum discount of €16 per order. U.S. consumers could save $4 for every $20 spent, up to a maximum discount of $16 per order. U.K. consumers could save £3 ($3.76) for every £15 spent, up to a maximum discount of £12 per order. AliExpress said these discounts will be automatically applied to all participating products in the sale.
Stress-free Shopping
AliExpress is offering free shipping on all products participating in its Black Friday sale for consumers in nine markets. Consumers in those markets will be able to add as many items as they want to their cart without worrying about shipping costs.
In order to provide consumers with a stress-free shopping experience, free returns will be offered on the vast majority of products for consumers in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the U.K., South Korea, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Shoppers in these markets can return one item of each eligible order free of charge within 15 days of receiving their purchase on AliExpress.
Consumers in Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain and the U.K. will benefit from five-working-day delivery for cross-border orders through AliExpress Choice, a program that offers a curated selection of the platform’s best value products. This will give them ample time to make purchases for themselves and families before the holiday season kicks off.
A selection of products will be delivered to American consumers in three to seven days, while Spanish consumers will receive their parcels in as short as one day, the fastest delivery amongst AliExpress’ global markets.
Shoppertainment
AliExpress is also laying on the razzle-dazzle to entertain its shoppers. AliExpress’ digital avatar will host a 24-hour non-stop livestream for select markets throughout the sales.
Consumers in eligible markets can also participate in draws and games from Nov. 20 to Nov. 24 to win codes and various products, including Bluetooth headsets, watches, hairdryers and tablets, among others.
