Ant Financial will debut its first-ever industry confab in April, bringing together top entrepreneurs, economists and thought leaders to “envision a world that’s more inclusive, green, and sustainable through digital technology,” the company said Wednesday.
The INCLUSION Fintech Conference, held in Shanghai on Apr. 23-25, is hosted in partnership with Ant Financial’s digital payments and lifestyle app, Alipay, and Alibaba Group. The conference will address questions such as how to increase access to banking and loan services to the poor and how to make life in global cities more efficient, Ant Financial said.
“With the launch of the INCLUSION Fintech Conference, we hope to create connections that encourage robust discussion on how technology innovations such as blockchain, Internet of Things and artificial intelligence can propel sustainable development in finance, commerce and the environment,” said Douglas Feagin, president of Ant Financial’s International Business Group. “This should promote greater collaboration across the global economy,” Feagin added.
The event will feature more than 100 forums, with keynotes and panels covering major themes such as the global digital economy, digital finance, innovative technology, commerce and cities, and sustainability, according to a release. Alongside the forums, exhibition areas and special zones will be set up to showcase the latest fintech innovations and digital lifestyle trends.
Ant Financial said it expects as many as 30,000 attendees for the inaugural conference. The company expects to launch other INCLUSION conferences in Europe and Southeast Asia in the future, it said.
