When we launched Alizila in the summer of 2010, we labeled it as a beta version because: a) On the Internet there is a long and inglorious history of websites and software getting released into the wild without being fully cooked, and who are we to go against history? And b) We weren’t totally sold on the site’s unconventional appearance. Alizila 1.0’s quirky (some might say unsightly) design and color scheme kind of grew on us, but page layouts were tricky to manage and some readers complained that navigation was less than intuitive.
Bye-bye beta. If you are reading this, you’ve noticed Alizila has been redesigned. The new site is bolder, cleaner, better integrated with social media and presented in a format that ought to be familiar to anyone who cruises the Web.
We hope these changes will make it easier for readers to find interesting, useful news and information on e-commerce and Alibaba Group companies. As part of the redesign, we’ve renamed our blog, calling it InsideAlibaba, to better reflect our intent to make it a lively, timely source of practical information that can help Alibaba.com members better support their small businesses through online international trade. In the coming months, watch for more instructional posts about Alibaba.com products and services, as well as more articles and videos to help users make the most of the world’s largest business-to-business trading platform.
As always, we encourage readers to give us their feedback on all topics relating to Alibaba and e-commerce. For starters, you could tell us what you think about Alizila’s new look by commenting below.
