Jack Ma’s Alibaba Group dominates Chinese e-commerce, but not too many years ago companies like Taobao and Alipay were not much more than a twinkle in Ma’s eye. To chronicle what Alibaba Group was like in earlier days, former employee Porter Erisman mined company video archives to produce a documentary, Crocodile in the Yangtze: A Westerner Inside China’s Alibaba.com.
