‚Ä¢On Nov. 11 last year, GMV (gross merchandise volume) settled by Alipay, Alibaba’s affiliated e-payments provider, soared to $9.3 billion, 60.3%more thanthe 2103 total of $5.8 billion.

• On Cyber Monday last year, American consumers spent $2.038 billion, up 17% compared with 2013 results, according to comScore.

• Shoppers placed some 278 million orders in the 24-hour period last year.

‚Ä¢The GMV for transactionsvia mobile devices duringAlibaba’s 2014 festival represented 42.6 percent of total GMV, up from 21% of total GMV during the 11.11 sale in 2013.

•More than27,000 merchants participated in 2014. Just 27 Tmall.com merchants participated in the event in its inaugural year of 2009.

• During the sale last year, consumers from 217 countries and regions were able to purchase more than 1 million products available on Alibaba platforms.

• Total GMV exceeded RMB 1 billion ($157.6 million) in the first three minutes of the sale last year.

• Mobile GMV exceeded RMB 1 billion ($157.6 million) 4 minutes, 28 seconds into the sale last year.

• For 2014, the number of delivery personnel supporting 11.11 grew to more than 1.25 million from less than 400,000 in 2009. More than 18,000 self-service pick-up locations, such as convenience stores and mom-and-pop shops, in neighborhoods across China aided in last-mile delivery of 11.11 packages. Additionally, 8,000 self-service pick-up locations were established in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.

• In 2104, more than 1.2 million large home appliances, 3 million lighting products, 200,000 bottles of laundry detergent and 50,000 new cars sold in the 24-hour period.
